Howard's Blog

It is just a general blog about nothing specific in general. It may address life, sports, politics, travel and any other thing that comes to mind. It will be out there for fun and banter. Coming soon. The blogged trip to New Zealand and Australia.

Tuesday Tidbits...

Well. Last weeks edition got everyone up in a frenzy with heated dialogue between John, Todd and Debbie in regards to the fact that FEMA is no longer paying for evacuees hotel rooms. It was good debate and no feelings were hurt. Let's see what this week stirs up.

  • I just want to feel 100%. Simple goals.
  • Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.
  • Bode Miller still sucks.
  • The winter olympics still don't get me fired up.
  • It is great to live in Atlanta (and just hear about 26 inches of snow in NY, not live it.)
  • I wish I was in Mobile for the board meeting for my big deal.
  • I am into Podcasting. For those of you who like the Onion, they have just added a daily news podcast. Very funny. Today's story "Local man can take buy socks off his To Do list"
  • Another interesting podcasts I have founds: Lonely Planet Travelcast- Find your destination. Listen to a podcast.
  • HOLY SHIT- A great day on the stock market.
  • Happy Birthday Michelle.
  • John Stewart reporting on Cheney's misfire was hysterical.
  • Hell. John Stewart is just hysterical. And so is Dick Cheney's aim.
  • Retail sales surge in the USA. Personal debt also?
  • It is sad that Grandma Luge has crashed and won't compete in the Olympics. At 52, she was going to be the oldest competitor ever.
  • Dick Cheney didn't even have a license to quail hunt. Not that obeying rules matter to him.
  • Anydbody use audible.com? Looks pretty cool.
  • Thinking about next travel destination- Argentina, Thailand, Panama, Italy, Germany, etc

Across the country we are getting ready to see the eviction of Katrina parasites who are refusing to leave their taxpayer-funded hotel rooms. OK --- so I called them parasites. A few months ago they were evacuees. No more. Now they've adopted the very same lifestyle they were living in New Orleans ... one of dependency and plunder. They see these hotel rooms as a right, not as a temporary act of charity. Those evacuees with a sense of personal responsibility and self-sufficiency left their free hotel rooms long ago. What we have left, by and large, are those who have no desire or intent to work their own way out of this situation. Expect howls of anguish and outrage from various liberal groups as these ticks are plucked over the next few weeks.

Croatia could be an idea for this year's trip. It's supposed to be awesome, but they say to book REALLY far in advance.

    Deb,

I'd love to meet you in Thailand. Maybe I could bring one of those parasites from New Orleans with me and they could latch on to you for a time.
