Ladies Love Cool James (Still After All These Years)

I was running on the treadmill at the gym today, when I glanced up and saw LL Cool J performing. It than crossed my mind that he has amazingly stood the test of time. He started in the rap game in 1984 and here we are 22 years later, he is still at it. When he started in 1984, rap/ hip hop were not a major part of mainstream culture like they are today.

My personal favorite album was "Mama Said Knock You Out" which he released in 1990. It had classic songs, such as "Around the Way Girl", "Mama Said Knock You Out" and "Jingling Baby"

In 2000, LL had his first number one album with G.O.A.T, which stands for Greatest Of All Time. 16 years after breaking on the rap scene. On Tuesday, LL will release his 12th studio album. Absolutely amazing considering how things have changed in hip hop and all of the side endeavors he is into. Among them, he helped start FUBU clothing and has appeared in numerous movies.

LL isn't one of my favorite artists, but I find it amazing that he has been around this long and has been a big part of the reason hip hop has achieved the status and play of today.
