Day 1 in Sydney
Well. Day 1 in Sydney was a huge success. It started with a nice walk around parts of town with a cup of capuccino down by Hyde Park. Sydney is an incredibly beautiful city that somewhat reminds me of Atlanta on water with a more international flavor. Later, we headed off to John and Rebecca's house for a good old fashioned barbecue. John and Rebecca are friends with my cousin Debbie and were incredibly gracious hosts. With Pete manning the grill, they made an amazing assortment of delicious food. After that, we headed to the soccer match with Tom and Kate to see Melbourne vs. Sydney. Sydney was victorious 2-1. After, we headed to have a couple of drinks and towards the world famous Kings Cross area. How do you explain Kings Cross? Well, an eclectic combination of bars, restaurants, strip clubs and red light district. Very wild. The nigh finished up with a "Pie." A chicken curry type pie with mashed potatoes and gravy on top. Very common here, but unlike anything I have ever had. Up next: Have to eat some Kangaroo.

Debbie had wanted to make kangaroo for laura and me but she couldn't find any good meat. What a shame!

Mom also thought "kangaroo" was Thai Cuisine.
